Academic Seminar
Course Description
In our efforts to challenge the gifted and accommodate the learning disabled, we often ignore the student in the middle. The question is—how do we catch ALL of the students who slip through the cracks? Academic Seminar represents our community’s investment in our students. As we work to develop skills and increase the academic performance of our students, we concentrate on the whole student—focusing also on attitude, self-advocacy, and good character. Designed for the regular education student who needs additional structure, guidance or skill-building to succeed, Academic Seminar helps students become independent learners, build and strengthen skills necessary for academic success, and access a higher level of instruction in academic courses, enabling
them to succeed in college preparatory courses.
